Restaurant English (EN/ES)
The English that gets you hired and through a NYC restaurant shift. Con apoyo en español.

A free bilingual phrasebook for working in American restaurants: 14 EN/ES cards + the full phrase list. The walk-in ask, the interview answers, the trail (working audition), the floor calls (behind you, corner, heard), the kitchen code (86, on the fly, all day), guest phrases, and the money words. Built from real NYC restaurant shifts. Frases de inglés para el turno, con apoyo en español.
The floor calls
The floor has its own language, shouted so nobody crashes: "Behind you!" means I am passing behind you. "Corner!" means blind corner. "Heard" means understood. Learn these by ear first — they keep you and the plates safe. Se gritan para no chocar.
The kitchen code
"86 the salmon" means it ran out. "On the fly" means needed NOW. "All day" means the total count. It does not translate; you learn it. These four you will hear on your first day.
Say it loud, say it wrong
The rule that carries the whole phrasebook: say the phrase loud, even imperfect, and say it again. The floor teaches fast when you are not afraid of it. El piso respeta al que intenta.
That is three of the cards. The rest is in the download.
